Silence Waits
I watch as the season changes hue
The falling leaves a silent clue
A quiet moment to reflect
On things only the spirit can detect
Silence in a world of chaos
Is a treasured gift to hold
Have we reached the point of no return?
Have we forgotten lessons learned?
My thoughts shift from world affairs
To those closer to home,
Why she left without a care?
Silence waits, for me to hear
I dismiss the thought to let my mind clear
As through the window I stare
An autumn leaf, downward bound
Falls silently to the ground
It's journey done, it finds rest
As silence welcomes me as guest
