Silence Waits

I watch as the season changes hue The falling leaves a silent clue A quiet moment to reflect On things only the spirit can detect Silence in a world of chaos Is a treasured gift to hold Have we reached the point of no return? Have we forgotten lessons learned? My thoughts shift from world affairs To those closer to home, Why she left without a care? Silence waits, for me to hear I dismiss the thought to let my mind clear As through the window I stare An autumn leaf, downward bound Falls silently to the ground It's journey done, it finds rest As silence welcomes me as guest 6-24-2020 Reflection in Silence Poetry Contest Sponsor: Silent One

Your muse on silence reflects the thoughts in human minds in sequence, starting from nature to the world then to self and back to nature. A wonderful journey Joseph. Congratulations on your win. Keep writing and inspiring. God bless you :)

Very beautiful, Joseph. With so much noise pollution, it is getting more difficult to find to find quiet moments, but when I do, I cherish them. GL in the contest. Blessings, Rhonda xx
