Sheetal and the Dung Beetle

Welcome to my humorous satire and subtle critique of movie sequels in general (Animated or Acted). Many film franchises often recycle old ideas, similar plots without offering anything new or creative. Almost to the absurd.  Today we follow my creation of the adventures of a Dung Beetle who meets Sheetle the Beadle.  I tried to apply several twists and things that are hopefully obvious in my imaginative scenarios and playful nursery rhyme scheme with a repetative nature. So pull up a comfy chair and smile.

Blessings,

Daniel Henry Rodgers

========================

This rhyme may seem strange but each word's truly equal Now Beetle's tale's done no need for a sequel. They'd chat by the teazel of matters so lethal Of sequels and prequels and justice so penal. In fields green and fetal past signs with a decal He'd meet Sheetal the Beadle who spoke of things fecal. With eyes prehensile he'd spot every weevil And warn all the people of dangers so evil. This Beetle was legal though far from regal He'd wheedle and wheeze with his diesel-powered treacle. He found a gold needle a prize for his easel And painted a weasel avoiding the measles. Again there once was a beetle so feeble and small Who lived in a steeple with people so tall^-^ And painted a weasel avoiding the measles He found a gold needle a prize for his easel. This Dung Beetle was again legal though far from regal He'd wheedle and wheeze with his diesel-powered treacle And warn all the people of dangers so evil With eyes prehensile he'd spot every weevil Again, he'd meet Sheetal the Beadle who spoke of more things fecal In more fields green and fetal past signs with even more decals Of sequels and prequels and justice so penal They'd chat by the teazel of matters so lethal NOW Beetle's tale's ended again no need for……….a sequel His adventures were splendid each moment so……….regal. This rhyme may seem strange but each word's truly equal A lesson in language both _^_ playful and………. legal The Dung Beetle though small had a heart brave and true Proving size doesn't matter in all that we do.

Daniel, A smile, a chuckle and a grin in finishing this glorious rhyme. You definitley have a gift here. I love the ending. Memories of Dr. Suess. You are much more sophisiticated, with the playfullness of a child and the wisdom of having been through a few lifetimes. Blessings to you, Susan :)

Dear Susan, I so appreciated your comments and am thankful that you found humor in my words. I do wonder what it would look like in a children's book. I am not an artist so it would be hard to tell. Have a great week! - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Daniel, yes a great ending. I guess if the moguls can derive profits from a franchise, they will go for it. It is amazing how we succumb to this scenario, but not surprising considering how it's money that matters at least for now. Something to think about...you always provide provocative subject matter. Smiles.

Hello Duke, It was fulfilling to see another note from you this morning. Johnny Cash sang a song called "Hurt" and essentially talks about how we can have his empire of dust. It is a wonderful video on YouTube, and it makes one really think about what truly is important. Have a great week! - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

What splendid rhyming.... both internal and end rhyming! Your poem shines with the escapades of the boldly buzzing beetle and is made delightful with delicate doting details. It is pleasingly playful. I like the image of the dreamy dainty beetle 'wheedling and wheezing with his diesel-powered treacle'. The ending asserts a great lesson- size doesn't matter, but vivacity and vitality. Dear Daniel, I never thought you could turn even a simple tale into a classic! Kudos.

Dear Daniel: This is such a fun read and my amazement grew with each line that the mono rhymes kept coming. Children would like this better than Dr Seuss and the great closing message. Yes no matter how small - we all have our place and function in the great puzzle of life. Blessings, SuZ

Dear SuZ, It is wonderful to see your comments this morning. I have 3 granddaughters and the oldest is 4 years old. I had wondered if I read it to them would they find it to be fun. I love reading books to them and I love acting out the characters and normally sub their names into the main character. Thank you again to come and read my creations of Sheetal and The Dung Beetle. - Blessings, MY Dear Friend, Daniel

Dear daniel, i actually know someone named sheetal haha. So made me smile the name choice, i mean. And where do i even begin praising your clever wordplay and use of poetic techniques? This is beyond impeccable and so well woven! I love the flow and assonance and internal rhymes creating a catchy cadence too, and i must admit, sometimes i do watch them, animated stuff: like unicorn academy and now theres a new one, mermaid something . Haha.many find it funny that i enjoy watching them, but sometimes its relaxing and nice. And i love the way your poetic tale unravels and how it seamlessly flow in a whimsical manner! You can write on any theme and subject and in any form and leave readers in awe inspired and connected! “The Dung Beetle though small had a heart brave and true Proving size doesn't matter in all that we do.” True! And great reminder too, a lesson delivered in a wise manner! Love this! A fave this is

Dear Lin, Thanks so much and I should take the time and record some of my poem. My daughters when they were small and now my granddaughters love when I read to them because I sing, I dance, I act and I add their names to the characters. By the way, Sheetal and the Dung Beetle said to say hi! (LOL) - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

This is a cute poem. It reminds me of the man that I saw who was wearing a hazmat suit and hosing out returned port-a-potties. He said he made a lot of money.

This poem is a delightful mix of whimsy and wisdom, masterfully playing with language and rhyme. The repetitive structure and the clever wordplay, especially with words like 'prequel,' 'legal,' and 'regal,' give the poem a rhythmic charm. The character of the Dung Beetle, though seemingly small and insignificant, is portrayed with a surprising depth and bravery, reminding us that true worth isn't measured by size or status.
