Shed a Little Light
Remind me to write what I must write,
Standing for principles I believe are right
Not arguing, or, trying to provoke a fight,
But diligently trying to spread some light
Calling attention to any deplorable plight,
Making real effort the poor never to slight
Doing my best to share a valuable insight
As I go through life, to shed a little light,
Supporting the bullied with all my might,
Holding on to family and friends real tight
Avoid offering my hand to dogs that bite,
And when I’ve been nasty, to be contrite!
