She Was Only Six
She loved her sunny Sunday School room,
She was only six,
She also loved to sing with her heart,,
And to feel that appreciated “fix.”
Daddy suffered through baby class
Then she stood up one Sunday morn
“Yes, sir, that’s my Baby,”
The day’s favorite “pop” was born.
She remembers that sunny room
With the drawings by all little hands,
And though she sang not the right song,
It was “Glory” like a remembered band.
I dream of that cheerful corner of a church,
When she was just six years old,
Walk on with the faith she learned there,
When she was just six years old.
