Listen to poem:
there’s nothing I like better
than strolling along the beach
leaving ephemeral footprints
in the ripples on the seashore
as I comb the beach for weathered seaglass
rolled for decades in briny waters
tumbled smooth and textured I keep a lookout
for my preferred colors of jade and amber
white and icy blue to line my pockets
with these magical mermaid coins
