Rude Drivers -Spelling Edit

Some drivers really make me want to scream. I’ll do some little thing that they don’t like. They honk or give the finger. It’s so mean. I’d like to yell at them to take a hike. Of course I can’t say THAT. They’re in a car. What makes them all such grouches anyway? Are they upset to have to travel far from home to work and then back home each day? Sometimes I need to get into a lane to take an exit. They won’t let me pass! Why can’t they yield? They drive me so insane. Sometimes it seems they give their car MORE gas. Yes, they do it with deliberation! I guess some people like to be unkind. What’s the matter with consideration? A driver that’s polite is hard to find. I’ll see some poor guy make a little blunder. I think – that could be me! It’s no big deal. Then someone honks like they’re the God of Thunder. They need to keep their cool behind that wheel. I say this in my mind to those who honk for no good reason: What is done is done! A honk as “afterthought” is like a bonk to someone’s head. I pray they’ve got no gun! You see it on the news sometimes – road rage. And sometimes people die because of that. Be careful on the road. it’s hard to gauge a person’s mental state. Don’t be a brat! I always wanted a toy gun that shoots out rubber darts with messages on them so that I can shoot them onto driver's windows to tell them how I feel (lol) I'll have to invent one! Love this, Andrea. Congrats on your win! Charlie

We used to be polite drivers " Sometimes I need to get into a lane to take an exit. They won’t let me pass!" now this is more common. It is sad.

In any sphere of life we will find kind people and mean people, but driving seems to bring out the rage. Then add to the rage the danger of a car/truck, and it becomes a life and death issue. California does have its share of nasty drivers but I find that the further away from big cities you get, the more relaxed people are. That's probably true in most places. Nice write Andrea!

That is what I like best about Hawaii, people here just don’t honk their horns. It is considered very rude. More than once I have been waiting for a greenlight and did not notice when it turned green and the car behind me never let me know. Because of that I try to keep very aware of when the light turns green. That just would not happen in other states. You point out the particulars that I think drives a lot of us crazy and you’re wonderfully creative poem Andrea. This poem is sure to rate high

I know how you feel. We had a lady pass us on a dirt road. I don't know how she kept from going over the hill. The road was not wide enough for two cars. Nice writing. Happy New Year, Debra

"Then someone honks like they’re the God of Thunder". They need to keep their cool behind that wheel..... You are absolutely right Andrea...It is indeed maddening when drivers keep honking from behind if we are stuck in front due to some unavoidable glitch. Some are indeed Gods of thunder! Best of luck in the contest.

I know exactly how you feel Andrea. I see it all the time and often think where is a cop when you need him. I have actually been driven right off the road by some people. All I can say is try to obey all the road rules, be considerate when you can and ignore the jerks who hog the road. God Bless my friend and Happy New Year to you and yours. JB

Murder on the expressway or interstate all the time in the Atlanta area and other large cities. I don't understand it at all. I guess people are just different in they are reared today. Sad. Reads like a good contender to me. The Kudzu Patch is not about anyone in particular just sometimes young lovers. Sara

My father carried a gun and never thought twice about forcing "inattentive" drivers off the road and beating the crap out of them (a consequence of his WWII experiences) so I knew there were drivers like that long before I got my license! Take care! Aloha!

Always remember that from WWII to Afghanistan, there are quite a number of Vet drivers on our roads who hit the panic button when they feel "boxed in" . . . . . .

Rude drivers drive me crazy (but in a non-destructive way). What’s their hurry I wonder? I never understand why people high beam me if I don’t dip early enough. Do they want me to crash into them? Good luck in your contest.

People are so rude these days. No manners, no compassion. I would not leave my car in front of my house. Might find some tyre slashes. I've seen it happen.

All drivers are in hurry make mistakes. But a rude driver is not good for society. This is universal problem. Nicely panned.
