Rose Meadow

In a state of half wakefulness, I lay dreaming of you, Dancing in a rose meadow Amidst pervading perfume, You saw me watching and smiled my way, Exhilarating me, I joined you in that rose meadow And we danced together, Suddenly, you vanished into thin air, And a thousand thorns pricked me, I woke up... ...screaming. 28th April 2023 For Julia Ward's "Rose Meadow" contest

Whoa! A wild daydream or night dream but sometimes we have those to alert us to some turmoil within our being. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my page. This one reads like a good contender for the contest to me. Way to go. Sara

You had the most beautiful dream of dancing in a rose meadow, but it was so upsetting that you woke up screaming. The reading was very enjoyable overall.

A phsyciatrist would have a field day with this one, Joanna. I wont try to analyze your (imaginary) dream:) It was an excellent poem with a "surprise" ending. I enjoyed my read. Have a great weekend, young lady.

Quite a sad verse Joanna, we often have those dreams where someone close to us has gone. Good luck in the contest and enjoy your weekend. Tom

Hi Jo, That was a lovely and romantic dream. Then reality bites(pricks) the girl in the story. Best wishes in the contest. Have a great day;-) Alexis
