Kick the tires, light the fires, now I’m off and on my way To different lands on foreign sands although my mind is far away Back to the time when I was nine or so, guitar thrust in my hands And from the day when I first played my life has been just one big band “Play me sweetly,” coaxed the fairy to the little child, she said, “Stroke me gently, there’s magic inside” Rock ‘n’ roll pilot soaring into the night Climbing to a smooth altitude so you can sleep tight I’m flying heavy metal, kiss the speed of sound Til I’m cleared to descend earthbound Few saw live, you can see that he was born to play Twenty-five, a change of seasons on a winter’s day Live forever, the soul and spirit onward fly Forget never, the music won’t die Rock ‘n’ roll pilot soaring into the night Climbing to a smooth altitude so you can sleep tight I’m flying heavy metal, kiss the speed of sound Til I’m cleared to descend earthbound Controller: Thunderbird 1206 , you are cleared to the SATO airport via flight planned route, after takeoff fly the Santa Monica 6 departure, St. John’s transition, climb and maintain flight level 250, departure frequency 119.82, squawk 1956. Read back… Pilot: Thunderbird twelve zero six, cleared Obera Airport via flight planned route, Santa Monica six, St. John’s transition, climb flight level two-five zero, departure one one niner eight two, squawk one niner five six Controller: Thunderbird twelve zero six read back correct, contact ground for taxi.
