Springfield Plateau: Flocking Robins

A flock of robins land Devour all the worms Eat the oak's acorns small And swiftly disappear Come again as spring enthralls A flock of robins land Upon the green front lawn Trees suddenly revive Green leaves slowly emerge Nature begins to thrive A flock of robins land Soon dogwoods' blossoms white Open at crack of dawn It unfolds 'fore my eyes Deers deliver those fawns A flock of robins land Their melodic songs touch Upon frost-kissed cold grass Symphony of joy on earth Vibrant red breast contrast

This is so lovely my dear. The sight of so many birds landing at the sametime is a delight, be it robins or any other birds. Your poem is so lucid and straight in its description of the beauty and liveliness of spring, that i can see all that you have described in my mind's eye. Into my FAVE

It's always good when we see robins ... spring is coming soon. I enjoyed you uplifting poetry today, Sara. Thanks for sharing it with us, my friend. Sounds like the weather here in North Texas. Are you, our neighbor? Hugs, Bill

Bill, I live in climate area 7(plantings, etc.). I live in what is considered west central Georgia. Here we get a lot of our weather from the Gulf Of Mexico. A lot of humidity which is miserable in the summer. It is seeming to be more like spring here now and I am hoping the last of the coldest weather. Thank you for dropping by. Sara K

we've seen hundreds of robins lately in the open fields near our neighborhood. They're scrounging for worms. On another note, I loved your colorful imagery and your attention to detail (frost-kissed cold grass). Nicely done, Sara K! Have a great evening, Sara B

SO, every year they appear in my front yard at about the same time. Their breast are usually not as vivid at the time they are here in our front yard. I think it becomes more colorful when they are mating. They say they stay here all year but are more in the wooded areas before they mate. Thanks for stopping by. Sara K

Dear Sara, Your poem wonderfully shows nature's cycle through the arrival and departure of a flock of robins. It also beautifully captures the fleeting moments of their presence, symbolizing the changing seasons and the rhythm of life. A delightful portrayal of nature's wonders. - Blessings, Daniel
