Rhapsody of Love
I will write a few gathered words about my love,
from long, long ago;
and will collect my tears in a big glass jar.
That's a lovely dress, he had said- winking,
oh, how our bodies fit together like puzzle pieces, as
he whispered in my ear sexy things;
and when he touched me, I was on fire,
my body igniting with an ache.
And I breathe him in,
'till we are lost in a wild whirlwind of lust and passion.
The sheets were in a tangle and we were breathless,
and we knew our love was eternal.
I wanted to be sheltered in his arms forever, ever,
as we talked softly for hours, hours and hours;
oh, I had found my safe sanctuary in his beating heart,
a refuge in his soul and shelter from my pain.
I wish that I could freeze time and be with him still,
but a different plan was written in the book of life.
Oh, I go to his tomb still,
with red roses each Valentine . . .
