Reminiscing Under A Weeping Willow Tree

Sitting under this Weeping Willow tree, I think of yesterdays gone by. The special times I spent with my Mom and Dad, I reminisce and cry. They're no longer here, God took them to a better place, away from me. Mom said," If I ever leave, look for me in the clouds my son, that's where I'll always be." Now I go through life wishing I had spent more time with them. Wishing, I could go back in time and relive my life again. On a beautiful sunny day when those beautiful clouds roam free. I see the outline of my Mother's face, like she said, my Mother, Anais.

Very lovely, Michael. Many of us, I suspect, have similar wishes about our mothers. Why are willow trees so often associated with sad thoughts...hmmm...I wonder.

So sorry Beryl you and your mom had to go through that awful decease. She was fortunate she had a son like you to look after her and take care of her... She's in a much better place. Thank you for sharing...

A real sob has escaped from me. How deeply I can relate to your feelings, dear Michael. This is exactly how I feel when I think of my parents. "Wishing, I could go back in time and relive my life again." How many times I too long to go back to my parental home and be with my siblings under the loving care of my parents. Your poem has brought a lump in my throat.

Dear Michael, This poem beautifully expresses sadness, nostalgia, and the longing to reconnect with dead loved ones, especially parents. It evokes happy recollections and the agony of loss. The weeping willow tree and clouds symbolize memories of time with your parents, regret for their absence, and hope for comfort in memories and nature. Blessings my friend.

Thank you Lasaad for your valuable comment that always rings true to the Verses. I used the Weeping Willow to associate the tree crying with myself. I miss my mother Anais and my father Rene. I was blessed with great parents. My mom spoke three languages English, French, and Spanish. She was a caring soul. She once paid the medical bill for a poor woman who couldn't afford to pay, in our native land of Cuba before the Communist took over. They took over my families business empire and they started over in America with just the clothes on their backs. Blessings back my friend...

Yes Tom they are never forgotten. You realize, for me they were the best years of my life. My family was everything to me. My father helped so many people. He received a Signed Thank You letter from President Reagan thanking him for a sculpture he did of the President when he was in Rochester NY. The sculpture is in the Reagan Library in Simi Valley California. I have President Reagan's signed letter thanking my dad. Yes Tom our lives are over so quickly you wonder where the years have gone... Thank you for your supportive words my friend. God bless you and all you Love...
