Remembering When
In the misty glow of my memory
are luminous fireflies
and a sunset that turned a red thread
on the horizon
left as a token of a moment in time
When love was you and I was a flame,
shining on the shadow of your needs
Why does the memory of you haunt me so?
Is it a desire to feel my soul float endlessly again
or relive our passion for human endeavor
that warmed the night
When we abandoned the world
and laid upon a starry hill
wrapped in sighs
from the tender tendrils of love
that drifted away on whispers of moonbeams
giving form to our silhouette
merging with a glowing sky
Where a star fell, crossing the horizon
etching a trail
burning an image into our eyes
leaving a sense of awe and wonder
in a moment of perfection
