Notes About The Poem

Reflections of Change

Reflections of Change

Reflections of the season’s change
as cast upon a languid lake
that signals weather’s rearrange,
and leaves a future quite opaque,
are but a sign of warmth’s estrange.

The Autumn leaves of many hues
that nature paints as season turns,
reveals to me in vivid views
the changes causing my concerns
as time keeps passing with its ruse.

The brightly colored hues of red
that deep within my senses stir
a feeling of the hope inbred,
and yet reflections still a blur
of times gone by and dreams misread.

I think of all the times I spent
just chasing rainbows ‘cross the sky
while always seeking love’s consent
and ne’er a thought to question why…
reflections of my life’s lament.

love the graphic and the imagery in this one John. The last verse could be a summary of my whole life before 77. A poet friend in Texas, Bill

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and comments, Bill, the last verse reflects many moments in my life as well though there have been many good times too. So, you are a Texan? I live in the Dallas area. John
