The Ambassador of Aloha
Rico told me one day: 30 days will go by
and I’ll be forgotten after I die
 "Ree Ko I" 4/9/2022

RIP RICO 4/8/41—12/15/22
Spirit guide O spirit guide begin his journey Take him through the colors Amber, presence of God, fiery passion, wisdom, and God’s anointing Pink new life, Father’s heavenly care, and Rose of Sharon Silver, salvation and the Word of the Lord Spirit close to home for these days Soul will be freed to make its way To the "Land of Ever Summer" Fire is lit meanwhile to help guide his spirit Dear Rico, may you rest in peace I’ll miss your presence, your signature Aloha I’ll make sure you won’t be forgotten A limerick I’ll write about you, a bawdy one And when I crumble who shall remember That you ever were here But there will be many have no fear

Gershon, I will miss the ambassador of Aloha. He mastered the daily news and events in his favorite poet form [the limerick]. Clever and unusual! Thank you for your kind visit. ~Anaya

Thank you dear Anaya for this moving tribute to dear Rico. He is riding the colors now … his spirit so rich and full . His spirit will never die and he will live on through his photos, limericks and his amazing sense of humor and wit . He will always be close to my heart forever . Rest in a peace my friend . Susan :)

Susan, the friendship you and Rico shared; so generous, affectionate and adventurous. Rico enriched our lives. The ambassador of Aloha and was truly endearing and an original. His wit, humanity, and candor will long be cherished. Thank you for your visit. Blessings and warm hugs XOxox ~Anaya

I will sorely miss you Rico as a much-loved elder statesman of Poetry Soup and a one-of-a-kind limerick maven. Your playful bawdiness and great sense of humanity will be long remembered in this world so filled with ignorance and divisiveness. Rest Well Rico! A deserving tribute, Anaya. Robert

a beautiful tribute, anaya! i'm so glad that there are others who are honoring rico with a poem. he was also the first name i looked for on the "new poems" list and i feel so sad each time i realize that he'll never be on that list again. no matter what he thought, he will not be forgotten...

Flicker, you can look at his pictures there, and was very proud of the Shutterbug Photo of the Day: “Zap” by Rico Leffanta and alot of Hawaii shots of people! Thank you for your kind comment, Tom.

Rico, REE KI, and limericks, I will seek to honor those too. Thanx for your HEART DEAR ANAYA. Note: no one has been rude to me in the last 2 years in PSoup. I just clarified in my poem, because Joe didn't agree with my critique of Trump

It seems to me that he has warmed your heart with his poetry and his spirit with yours. I think that even in absence, he will feel your sincere farewell thoughts as he journeys on. A truly fine tribute Anaya!...ab
