Saffron sunbeams color chiffon
ribbons entangled in the clouds.
And purple lilacs scent the air;
wafting delicious aromas.
As orange tints the rim of Earth;
cinnamon skies showcase shy stars.
And when Twilight shifts into Dusk,
darkness descends, devouring day.
Cotton candy pink shields the sun
behind a bright magenta glow.
And a rising Moon's golden hue;
gilds alabaster clouds below.
Night dons a cloak of tattered black
that summons the screech of an owl.
And, soon, reality slumbers;
dreaming in muted shades of blue.
Far horizons of ebony,
ink shrubs, and trees in silhouette.
And Venus summons tomorrow;
anticipating today's death.
