Ready To Give Him Another Chance

She wonders if she had been too hasty Should she have given Richard another chance? To put her down? To beat her? But he was always sorry. Tender and sweet afterwards Begging her for forgiveness She stared out of the slits of her eyes Berating herself for leaving He said he would never do it again. He had been unbelievably kind and attentive during their courtship. She wondered if she should pay for her pie and leave. She was ready to give him another chance.

Oh my, please don't give me another chance. The next time may be the last time! I always said in pre-marital counseling, never marry a man who gets so angry he bangs the steering wheel. After you are married, it will probably be your face!

It is sad but the women usually want to believe in the "prince charming" they saw before the abuse started. These men have a knack of saying just the right things to lure these women back, begging forgiveness, saying it will never happen again.

It is sad but the victims who leave are often the ones killed. Restraining orders do not protect them if their abuser sneaks in and finishes "the job".
