Far I have travelled to a distant moon upon the two isles over land and sea, from the dry in March to the rains in June and fill of the red rum and a roti. To tread the lost sands and not feel it strange and gaze on peaks and valleys for old sake - El Cerro del Aripo on the range to the Devil’s Woodyard and black Pitch Lake. In calm wind and sail out of Scotland Bay to clear blue grotto caves of Gasparee, and deep spear fishing when night becomes day beyond Huevos and Chacachacare. To walk the streets and hedgerows of old time past each corner and each tree we did climb. Written: September 1996
