"Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby." Langston Hughes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am the soft pitter-patter, a gentle lullaby, a cascading melody, winding down your windowpane. Each droplet is a note in nature’s symphony. I am a timeless storyteller, Weaving tales on the canvas of the earth. Each droplet is a word, each puddle a paragraph. I am a ballet of nature, graceful and wild, Leaping from rooftops and pirouetting in puddles Watch me as I dance! I am an intimate embrace from the sky, Washing away, not just the dust of the day, But also your burdens, worries, heartaches, and pains.
Hi Sara , I live presently on the borders of Scotland, not far from the beautiful lake district , and home of William Wordsworth, but my home is Éire, and although I love making raids into Scotland, the highlands and islands, I still yearn for home. I've only done 3 personification poems and that's on here , but yes I do enjoy getting into the character of each. Texas and there was I about to ask you around for cream tea and scones lol. Hugs back at ya Ma'am. Daniel
thank you for your delightful visit, Daniel. I appreciate you sharing a bit about where you currently live--sounds almost enchanting...near the home of Wordsworth! Awesome. I, too, don't often write Limericks or Personification poems....not my cup of tea. But if you're every in Texas, we can share a spot of tea and perhaps some homemade Texas cornbread. :-) Color me grateful for you and your presence here on Poetry Soup. Sara
Good Morning Sara, and wow , what a stunningly beautiful and poetically graceful personification of rain, personally I would just give you the first place now and put the rest of us out of our misery :). 'Weaving tales on the canvas of the earth' and Each droplet is a word, each puddle a paragraph', so many beautifully woven words , perfection in personification. Daniel
Nicely done Sara. It seems that the rain makes us all reflect on nature's wiliness.
I really like the comparison to 'a ballet of nature.' Let it rain. Let it rain. Let it rain.
thank you, Gershon, for visiting and for your comment. I grew up around ballet (watcher not a participant) so sometimes I think in terms of ballet. Today we're slated for some heavy spring rain and wind. So, yes, let it rain! have a pleasant day, Sara
