After an hour’s incessant rain, On this cloudless evening, With the face of the sky Washed clean, Globules of water have speckled the oiled surface, of leaves on arching trees. They glisten in the evening light, reflecting kaleidoscopic colors. Lying on my bed, curled up, as I look on, they quiver, dither, wobble and flutter. In their effort to balance precariously, each drop, rolling and spiraling flops down one by one, with a sad refrain- Flip… plop, flip …plop leaving ripples in the puddles below. In the deep hush of Nature, on this twilight evening, their distinct tinkling, falls as music to my ears!

The rain sure is many things. A gambler and a friend. It brings calm and chaos. The only thing I get scared of is thunder. I've been meaning to dance in the rain. To feel connected to it directly but the wind and cold wouldn't let me dare. Hahaha. "In the deep hush of Nature, on this twilight evening, their distinct tinkling, falls as music to my ears." A soothing sound.

Dearest Valsa, soulful poetess, I'm enraptured with the beauty of these moments after the rain shower. Your golden pen captures the serene, symphonic serenade of left-over rain drops "flip...plopping" into puddles below with lovely appreciation for Nature, expressing it with shining poetic finesse. Indeed, your vivid, sensory yet tranquil imagery brings me to this place where the left-over raindrops "distinct tinkling, falls as music to my ears" too! Sumptuous and splendid poetry, my sweet and wonderfully gifted friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Dear Valsa, A lovely poem that evokes the calm serenity of nature following a rainstorm by describing the sights, sounds, and sensations brought about by the rain's descent on the leaves. You employ sensory language and strong images to transport the reader to another world. To enhance the sensory experience and create a mental image of the setting, adjectives such as "glisten," "kaleidoscopic colors," and "tinkling" enhance this poem.
