Quiver
The silhouette of your memory comes
like a soft dark rendering
drawn on the wall of my mind
to visit, to remember
there I've sketched your likeness
with the crumbled charcoal from our love
left in the silent ashes
when I felt a cold quiver in my soul
as you quietly moved your hand away
the space between filled with silence
though my heart heard your voice from within
