Fat drops pellet the ground. Steps splashing, scattering ripples. Ripples in time, circling out from the moment, the here, the now, the present. The present of laughter, sheer joy at being a child being cuddled by fat drops that ripple in rings, then retreat once memories fade.

This poem made me grin with its innocence and joy. The pure joy of childhood allows children to fully enjoy the present, making it amazing.

Yes, I trust this boy is 11 years to the day, since 2012...my grandson saw this picture and said, but gps (don't like be called gramps), it's not raining, all day. He can read but I read your poem to him, and he said the rain is fat...finally get to post this, thanks Linda. HB! Zaven, Aloha, Gps. William

teehee. I don't blame you. I am glad you grandson enjoyed this. The artist specifically made the rain drops fat, I understand, to show a cuddling effect. You are welcome for the post - my pleasure. Thank you for sharing the moment with your grandson. :)

oh, your poem reminded me of my childhood days of jumping in puddles. Plus the way you described the rain and puddles was as joyful as the child playing. Outstanding, Linda! have a splendid evening, Sara

Puddles are fascinating to the young...and I still love to watch ripples in the creek, wondering what creature is looking from the underside LOL Thanks so much for stopping by Sara :)
