Pterodactyls Thriving

Pterodactyls Thriving On steamy summer days as warm waves lap the shore The pelicans pass over in perfect V-form Their silhouettes appear dark beneath yellow sun An eerie reminder of a species thought gone Pterodactyls, you see, first came to mind When as a small child I looked up to find Winged creatures with long beaks like dinosaurs Angular features, pteradactyl norms I knew nothing then of evolution But marveled at this species' procession Casting shadows on crystal sands below Sparking a child's imaginative flow Watch closely; can you see the resemblance Might pterodactyls thrive in the present tense? Friends, at Yoni's suggestion I am providing the following link (just one of many) regarding modern-day pterodactyl sightings: http://archaeology.suite101.com/article.cfm/do_pterodactyls_still_live_today

hmmm, I never had this thought since I have never seen pelicans flying. A very interesting perception and enjoyable poem you made from it! Luv, Andrea ps. yes, wigs can be so nice looking but when I think back on my blonde wig, it DID look fake in certain lighting. I think I only fooled men with it .Most women are aware of those things!

Carolyn, I've never seen a pterodactyl but while in New Mexico I once saw a huge bird that I could not identify. This thing was big enough to carry away a VW beetle. Not that it did or I wouldn't be writing this. I missed this poem but am glad I found it today. I have been back in hospital for awhile and have not felt well enough to keep up with the soup. Excellent write and thanks for the Pterosaur link. Love, Will

Wow! I love it! My son went to school in Philadelphia. I recall being so embarrased when he let out his pterodactyl shriek while we walked down a busy street. He also does pigs, either one ear-splitting. Thanks for missing me dear friend. Love, daver

The higher order light particles, of which my poem is about, used to be in the embodiment of these Pterodactyls. And therefore hold the memory of them. Nothing is ever lost in love. Happy friendship week to you also, Sincerely Moses Your comments greatly valued!

I love Pterodactyls - Have you seen my lyric (poem) for "Swoop the Pterodactyl"? This is wonderful Carolyn, and I do believe they live on in birds

well Michael Crichton, the utmost authority on the subject;) said they evolved into birds more so than into reptiles, at least that's what I remember from the movie, the one with Sam Neil, so I'm guessing they have a lot in common with the pelican at the genetic level. Also without your comment below I didn't realize you were thinking the real deal dinosaur still lingers somewhere on the planet. I don't suppose you have alink to an article on it? you could link to it under your poem:)

Carolyn, i used to enjoy reading books on dinosaurs when i was young, as i read this super poem of yours, i could see all the pages opening up in front of me. What a feeling it would be to witness a past species believed to be extinct. Excellent Couplet to the Pterodactyls, it's off to my favs. Missing you on the Soup>x>Love James..

Friends, on the History Channel there have been reports of actual pterodactyl sightings in remote areas of the world. Food for thought.

I enjoy the way this poem encompasses great stretches of time while staying grounded in a child's observations. And thanks for your comment on "Beagles".
