Promise, I Do

I am the promise of I DO a declaration, a vow made by two to stay together their whole lives through to meet life's struggles, great or few. And yet, how often vows do die upon the altar of selfish "I" instead of two, who fail to try to work things out, their love revive. I DO made before God and man is sacred, important to understand I DO is more than "maybe I can" it binds two hearts to meet life's demands. I am the promise of I DO a solemn vow that is made by two. Your poem speaks to those couples who give up too soon, who let hardships pull them apart instead of bringing them closer together. It is so true nowadays when more than half of marriages end in divorce. This is a beautiful poem Laura. I hope it does great in the contest! 7 ; )

This was wonderful Laura. This line, I DO is more than "maybe I can" was fantastic. That one line says it all in my opinion. This amazing poem should do very well in the contest

Why, thank you, Chris! One of the hardest promises to keep, yet with the help of God, it can produce a strong marriage that is pleasing to Him, I believe :)
