In winter we birds are sweet like jewels,
still young, we do not know the winter rules;
"go away cold," says one gem,
on legs like a flower stem ...
and then, we spin in a windy whirlpool !
One bright day the snow is melting away,
and all us pretty birds dance a ballet;
but, still the girl is coming,
bringing seeds she comes humming ...
on her hands, head- we sit happy and gay !
Come my beauty, come to me, you sweet thing,
chirps a boy bird- with a love song to sing;
soon, little birds fly in pairs,
there are musical affairs ...
each helping, mine bringing me a lost string !
Soon, oh soon the branches will have green leaves,
and we will be making nests in house eaves;
mothers will sit on their eggs,
then, chicks will chirp on twig legs ...
next spring, those chicks will do the nest weaves !!
