I am with Caren on this one. I find her droll! But I understand we all have our favorites. Mom taught me, that people can’t all like the same things. Emily’s one line kills me… “ I thought I saw a fly on the wall, when I died”. I do like poetry that is understandable to the masses. Heady, overdone poetry, is like eating a tough, steak. Not enjoyable and more like a job than pleasure. Great poem , in any case. Panagiota xxx Panagiota xx

You know, I must confess, I've never read much of Emily Dickinson. Your poem may prompt me to give her a go. Somehow I suspect Alfred Lord Tennyson she was not!

Ha, ha! No, Lord Tennyson she was not. Nor was she Shakespeare or e e cummings either. She was just plain old Emily -- good enough for me!!

She is one of the few known poets whose poetry I never enjoy.

No kidding... Interesting... She is my #1 favorite (non-humor) poet, head-and-shoulders above the rest, in my opinion. Oh, well: Different strokes for different folks! ~ Gary Coleman

A great tribute to Emily Dickinson... 'the solitary recluse of Amherst' ! Yes, her poetic talents were known to the world only after her death...
