Phoenix the Dawg

Phoenix the dawg

There in my yard is a dawg name
phoenix
One stubborn black *****
Easily identified by her signature hind
limp
Now, is not that she's without redeeming qualities
But that dawg no matter how you call har
she seems hard of hearing
While it well known that's a choice she is making
Cause the merest sound har ear perk,
she jump up and start barking
Phoenix the real mix I love to say
But jah know, dis dawg personify
the adjective play
I leave her sometimes under a mango
tree loosely chain
Where her kennel is to cover her when
it rain
A piece of work she is even when she is
on rein
Cause har mouth nuh cry quit, she get wey under mi van already and bite the wiring to
total disarray
Yet, phoenix is a unique dawg,
black as midnight with a face like a
happy smile....wg

Certainly maintaining my joy of well into the trod on offer really...your poems are a great way of watching the truth in expression and love living sharing which I'm doing only though on physical pages then prompting ours to grow into the being we best represent.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

I love your dog and your narration in archaic language. Phoenix seems to be quite naughty ! Your black dog with a smile reminds me of my black dachshund, which is no more with me..... but been a part of our family. Beautiful poem, dear Weston.

I love that dawg! My beagle stayed under the house when the weather turned cool. Turned out he was sitting on the heating duct until it collapsed and I was the one who was cold! Elizabeth

Phoenix sounds like a dawg I would love. From your description she is a Lab. Scout, my red tick American Coon Hound would have fun with her. When dogs dig holes and tear things up it's because they are bored. Take her for a run every day and she will be very happy. Good stuff here my friend. God Bless, JB

Well done and Phoenix sounds like a really sweet dog I would love to have. When they dig and chew it's because they are bored and need something to occupy their active mind. Don't leave her in solitary confinement. Bring her in and let her live with you and take her for a walk once a day. They need to get out and see something besides the back yard too. Good write here. God Bless my friend and thanks for the lovely review. JB
