Persona Non Grata

I am nothing pariah, outcast, a worm I have nothing to offer, nothing of value except these words for when I see the sunlight reflect in your chocolate brown eyes I envision paradise eden, before the fall and when you smile you radiate all the colors of the rainbow reds and yellows, indigo and violet the lilting echo of your song moves the flowers and trees to sway gently in harmony The birds of heaven are your supportive choir you are my far away friend my island girl but the universe is tricky full of black holes and supernovas spiderwebs and quicksand navigation across time and space is dangerous how can I show you what I feel only with these words for I am nothing a worm that being said would you still love me if I wasn't a poet

I can see you were inspired by the prompt.. I can feel the hurt in this poem the angst of a person who only has words to express their love and devotion... I do like the beginning, but I am sure you are not a pariah or outcast.. maybe a worm... lol... Your play with words give the poem further depth and i can feel the angst in your words.. The birds of heaven are you supportive choir.. love that line.. Thanks for writing and congratulations on your first place..

I think a reciting of this would add even more emotion to what is already a free verse ladened with passion. I love the ending. I'm trying to think who's work this reminds me of here at The Tureen and Mr GRB comes to mind. Great read. Cheers - Gary
