Peace Flies

While buzzing one day around Beijing my two faceted eyes saw something, a man named Liu Xiabo thrown in jail like cargo Nobel Peace prize of no, he was hamstringed. Fast flew I, to his fine mistresses house and found the commies had lured his wife out the press to waylay on his special day all the leadership could do was grouse! Finding my way to Liu Xiabo’s cell, it seems all free men here, live in hell. He smiled with kind eyes said “Ah, life’s the prize! perhaps, I will arise, who can tell?" *2010 Nobel Peace Prize Winner for his efforts in obtaining human rights in China was jailed by his government.

Isn't it a shame that those who pursue peace are imprisoned by their own governments. I wasn't aware of Liu Xiabo, Deb. Thank you for sharing his story with us. Best wishes, Carolyn

A superb trio of limericks that collectively tell this clear tale of injustice.

Hi Debbie, nice flow in the two last Limericks! Interesting to read some on politics! For Sarah Palin China must be a democratic nation like North Korea, hahaha! Thank you for your kind comment on "Constant Dark Rain" and have a great week ahead!...Love, Gert

WEll, that is so neat how you took your limerick to the level of human rights, Deb. Good luck in this contest and yes, I do require so little from marriage. Too bad I never married a millionaire. He would never have had to worry about me I'd be so thankful for security. ahha. Luv, Andra

Very powerful Deb. Re: Bad hair day- as I have said before, I do not understand this meter and stress thing even the defintions on this site are confusing to me - so as I said before, I fly by the seat of pants. I need to take a class somewhere where it can all be explained to me, but haven't found one yet. Lainie

Yes. I missed that rule and wrote a poem and entered and then realized it was supposed to be a limerick. I wrote a new one for the contest. It's called Limerick in Paradise. I left my other one in my file though. Joyce
