Path of Life
she wandered along the long path of life
umbrella sheltering her from the sun,
keeping away the stressful thoughts and strife
of her being alone, life isn't fun .
the love of her life is fighting away
as a soldier puts his life on the line,
all she can do is to wait hope and pray,
until the time comes when he's home full-time
she sends him poems all written with love
telling him secrets from her inner thoughts.
he smiles when he received them as he strove
to keep the peace, for this is what he sought.
time is now today he is coming home
injured but still alive no more to roam
