Passing Through Clouds

Her heart crashed on the stairway with a pound but not one star blinked to descend or touch the distant tremble as coal night grew long, as murmur signed through whispers down the floor. A trail of pages blew in feathered wafts yet imprints of their silence still remained. The words were gentle and addressed with love Delivered not, will clawed pain matter now? A woman lived alone and passed through clouds that no one tended how she glazed old weeds. The tunes of berry months were never hummed, as if the strings of twilight plucked a life The crashing stars, the page, and gentle weeds though shortened in presence, were not relieved; for time became a thief wearing cloaked breath like sighs untold in hushed tones to the breeze

Hello again to my fav. poet!...Some quick trivia...I was stationed in Subic Bay from 1969 to 1971...it was our overseas home port from where we did tours of duty in the Tolkin Gulf...I will NEVER forget my experience there and also the opportunity to visit places like Singapore and Bangkok...priceless!...I understand the old Naval port there was destroyed by a volcano??...I hear that now Subic Bay is a big tourist attraction...One of my dreams is to go back to visit there again!

Wow, the power of your words in this verse is tremendous my friend! I am truly flabbergasted by the intensity of the flow, the starkness of each stanza, the incredible sayings you say in each line all bring me awe and inspiration! It's astonishing how you bring up the stars in this write, the amazing blinking and descending stars that were not, and the crashing stars, all a representative of death and comfort the stars are supposed to bring! you have mastered this verse my friend! Awesome Work!!

Very interesting one for blank verse, Nette. I know Deb's contest is asking for blank verse. Was this for any contest? I love that last stanza where you put all the elements of the poem together!!
