Oh, the double edges of life ... There is pain, and there is ... PAIN. Life is a series of struggles, broken by by moments of joy, The pains we each experience, we deal with in our way ... But to see your children hurting is an agony on another level - A frustrating and helpless torture that is nigh unbearable, And though you would trade your life to ease it, They must find their own way, come to know ... That pain is the price we pay for loving, It is as essential as breath, And as purely vital ... As love itself.

So deep, insightful, sympathetic and expressive of love for life and especially for that of the innocence of children and the horror when they are afflicted with pain. Yet we all learn, life is about, love living, hoping, amidst struggle, pain and sorrows. A fav.. a truly fine poem..
