Pandora's Kiss

"Pandora's Pearls"

Crystal tears drown under the best velvet distinctive feel
A Ghostly feel that leads into a clear diamond road
I found myself seduced down an Ancient Silk Caravan path,
There she hid behind the golden stones she built around her heart.
She was a white gem against the deepest night
She spoke Latin words upon this dreamy sky
Her eyes were deep and the size of my mother’s midnight pearls
I fell into the stare of her bedroom eyes
Wishing to taste the sweetness of her coconut milk fragrance.
She lowers the cloak to reveal the beauty in her black pearly eyes
Raven hair under her soft sensual disguise
Her lips redder than the violet rays of the sunset

She buried her beauty, and then exposed what’s under the cloak
Soon, her body turned into rot and bones
Her fingers pointed towards another path,
A rugged road of stones and pearls
I took a blade and press it against my skin,
Concealing my life shut, after she revealed all my forbidden sins
Her lip, her eyes, her pearly grin, my last vision as my blood drew thin
A sweet kiss of death, falling into the eyes of Pandora’s Spell

An exquisite poem, PD. This is my second read. The first time was when it was used as an example of an Epic poem. I pondered and meditated on certain aspects of the poem. Now after reading it the second time, it reaffirms my belief that seduction to beauty in it's varied forms can make a soul go astray. It's hard not to fall sway to the siren song and lose yourself. A beautiful piece of prose. Love you always and forever.

Exquisite creativity....Pandora is a great theme to write on, in fact I have just written a poem about Pandora which I intend to post in the near future. The imagery is captivating and seductive. I'm under its spell! /x/ paul

Hello Linda, A very well-done epic style poem. Usually anything that carries "Pandora" in the title is an immediate attention getter for me. It certainly captured mine. Your work exhibits exquisite and compelling imagery, and I find the diction employed to be quite enchanting. I look forward to reading much more of your poetry. I can tell from the number of poems you've listed that you've been at this for a while. Again, most excellent work!! Best Wishes, Gary

The moment I saw the title I knew in some way this would be interesting. Pandora...what a symbol. Your imagery is so...colorful. Vast. I really do enjoy your expression. :)

HI, Pd, I changed my entry for you. Too many people were saying nice things about cherry blossoms. But I have lots of DOGS amongst my more recent haiku and I hope you hate the one I submitted. haha

I found myself amidst a scene of wonderment on the Silk Trail. Cloaked I am against the Mongolian wrath's nature they call Summer. Dust devils lacerate, as they have done whilst I have roamed. He to me with our Black Pearly Eyes, never despise, though we cry. We are one, we are Taras Bulba's children, Ostap & Andriy, for we are we, and she will become thee. Oh my, this could be a story. Apologies for drifting PD. I love this piece, makes me wander. Have a koolio weekend, James xx
