Pain of Death
Pain Of Death
"Down, down, down into the darkness of the grave
Gently they go, the beautiful, the tender, the kind; "
Edna St. Vincent Millay
Pain
of death
is boundless-
smolders deeper
than the hottest hell,
searing the mind and heart-
past pleasures to charcoal turn.
Endless death snuffs good life away-
hot, burning tears fuel the flames aglow
for loved one gone- no more to cherish, hold.
