Once

Once plucked it ceased being a Rose... once the last petal fell the masquerade ended.

Hi Richard, this is a strong and deep, but then, sometimes I don't look for meaning and just take the words as they are. I just want to look at this one simply for it is beautiful in its sadness. A creative write Richard. A fave. Have a wonderful Saturday. Your friend always....Mike.

that could mean so much if read between the lines, searched for deeper meaning, sipped slowly like a wine to taste the full flavor. it is deep.

This little poem seems very symbolic to me, Richard, but I shan't say what I think except that I think it's very clever. ;)

About your monoku, nothing remains the same once it's touched or tainted, (plucked) So much beauty in every rose, before it's purged for the taking.  However, as for me, I find rare beauty in each petal that falls, a very great write. always ~LINDA~

That is very sad Richard. Perhaps the petals could be lovingly collected and continue on with purpose as potpourri. But then ... it wouldn't be a beautifully sad monoku ;)
