On Winds of Love
"The wind is the pounding of my heart."
Your hand touched mine and ignited a spark
that stirred my emotions like a hallmark.
A flame began burning inside my heart
as a gentle breeze, a light in the dark.
Desire was soon flowing within my veins
like gusts of wind that blow before it rains.
I trembled, overcome by what I felt,
a force surging through me and there remains.
When you're near my heart cannot be discreet.
Can you hear its pounding crescendo beat?
It sounds like thunder roars inside of me,
as passion fills me with amorous heat.
Winds of love are billowing in the air,
but if there is danger, I'm not aware.
My only thoughts are of your sweet kisses.
To be denied is more than I could bear.
I realize love is a treasured gift,
and ours blew in on a gale, strong and swift.
It streams in me like a windswept river,
and in its current, I'm content to drift.
