On Tranquil Lake
Through life, a few times I have wandered
down corridors of uncertainty.
Meanwhile, in an enchanted forest
I have often wished that I could be.
I got to spend a few times in that forest.
So beautiful it was that now it seems
when I look back on those days, I feel like
I’ve steered toward an island of broken dreams!
But that island isn’t necessary.
There hasn’t been too bitter of a pill
I’ve had to swallow! I should say instead
I’ve often found myself in Shouldaville!
But thankfully, I’ve rarely had to dwell
in the Valley of Loss or horrid strife.
On Tranquil Lake is where you will find me
most often, for I’m happy with my life.
