On Jackson Street

Where the road bends on Jackson Street Scattered like coins down wishing wells On park benches, memories meet Within a glen of quiet bells Scattered like coins down wishing wells His secrets to her heart confide Within a glen of quiet bells Today sighs; yesterday's aside His secrets to her heart confide As shadows towards sunset crept Today sighs; yesterday's aside Singing old songs, between them kept As shadows towards sunset crept On park benches, memories meet Singing old songs, between them kept Where the road bends on Jackson Street. 6/17/20 For 'Feelings of Nostalgia' contest Sponsor: Eve Roper Picture #2 The syllable count was verified on howmanysyllables.com The rhymes were confirmed on rhymezone.com

I love the mysterious vibe of this with secrets, sighs, and shadows. My fave lines are "Today sighs; yesterday's aside", and "Scattered like coins down wishing wells". Great pantoum to fit the feeling of the picture, Michelle. Best wishes to you ~ John

There actually is a Jackson Street in my neighborhood, and there really is a park at the end of it, which inspired this poem, thanks so much for your warm comment, Gershon!
