On a Passing Cloud There Floats a Dream

Playful leisure moments linger Afternoon picnics by a cottage lake Adventures under the scorching sun Escapades through lavish pastures Swinging for hours at the city park Too many social parties to rush to Till every last summer day is spent Fresh cool mornings now offering A sense of oncoming respite Much needed rest and calmness Withdrawal and even hibernation Slower times being laid back Kicking up heels and feeling lazy Drawing a curtain for some me time Indulging in mindless musing Idle thoughts released and set adrift On a passing cloud there floats a dream Read on air by invitation ~ July 3, 2022 'POETS HARBOUR' AP: 3rd place 2020 Submitted on September 4, 2018 for contest ONE IN FIVE II sponsored by JOSEPH MAY - RANKED 3RD
