Now that Biden has stepped aside, we focus on the Republican with a decrepit brain. He has no problem lying, falling asleep in public, and making mistakes, but would he ever act selflessly? A transactional person and narcissist, he only does something if he gets paid for it. “Me first” and “America First” ignore conditions around the planet. His proposed isolationist polices will cost Americans and others a lot more in the long haul. To the base who loves D.T. as their idol and savior, the video presents a suggestion for the relationship between you and the WrestleMania-inspired king of cult:

Once simian stock from brambles
Orange buffoon whose ooze rambles
Orangutan clone 
On narcissist’s throne
Owns ape-man’s old brain in shambles

Thanks Sara. I had described our previous choice as Monster vs Cadaver. Now, I think we have Monster vs Normal people. I'm looking at the backgrounds of the candidates and one seems a lot more like common folk to me. A lot remains to be seen.

You write great limericks and you have described this character really well.. do Orangutans make good business men? What makes me laugh is how people who support him ignore his crimes.. I would never support a criminal.

Congrats on the potd, even though I believe a vote for the other side will be the demise of our country as we know it. I feel great sadness on having to vote for the lesser of two evils now. A party whose values I hate or a man who is egotistical. But he is the only one who will stand up to WHO and the other organizations I despise, so . . . Soupmail for ya.

We were just discussing how difficult it is to run for national office and what a sacrifice it is. I would certainly not wish it on any friend!

Thanks Karen. We have a lot of excitement and justifiably so for Kamala. We were very lucky that Trump decided to debate Biden early, and the world saw that we did need to have a better spokesperson. She's done a lot of good work and will be a fine candidate.

The former President said immigrants are criminals and mentally ill people who are "poisoning the blood of our country.” This narrative suggests immigration (including illegal immigration) has brought on a crime wave—a lie. FBI data show dramatic declines in U.S. violent and property crime rates since the early 1990s. I could focus on the citizen gun nut who shot and killed a Trump rally attendee during an assassination attempt, but I would rather not cherry pick one event and generalize it to prove a point. Studies show that the enactment of legal abortion had a huge crime reduction effect. It resulted in many fewer criminals from unwanted children. So, if you were really concerned about trends in crime, why don’t you deal with what’s coming in the next couple of decades if we continue to force women to have children they don’t want? The second coming you suggest should be for Roe.

Thanks Robert! I can imagine the orange man supporters finally coming to the conclusion he is poisoning them and reluctantly separating from him to this song. Sometimes a cult member gets and intervention. However, I think many will just find it too difficult to separate. Logic and truth seems to be out the window for many who use limited source material. I hope the trend continues as it's a relief if it holds. I see no reason why she should not win.

Lin, I shall take a look. I submit the limericks I write to the Chat GPT interface and it returns a picture within a couple of seconds. I think it helps make the page more interesting to have these illustrations.
