Ghazal
A poetic form consisting of couplets that share a rhyme and a refrain. The couplets have lines of 10 syllables (Including the refrain). The refrain can be a word or a phrase. There is internal rhyming in lines 1 and 2, and line 2 of each couplet with the refrain. Each couplet should be able to stand alone. There is no limit to the number of couplets in a Ghazal.
Oh, Death, why do people fear You so much,
can you say why the living dread Your touch?
Death, You are how mortal existence ends,
yet few can say they do not dread Your touch.
Death, only through You, can our souls ascend,
and still, those waiting in queue dread Your touch.
Death, You are the angel that ends all pain;
and we are not sure why we dread Your touch.
Death, for life, You are indispensable,
and yet, it's also true; we dread Your touch.
