Of Wars and Love

Such is life in all the universe,
nebulas are born, others just explode.
In our microcosmic world.
we fight our wars for pecuniary greed,
for love and passion and sadistic fun.
The tide comes in and then it ebbs,
cycle follows cycle until the end.
Yet we are after all too young to give up
or too old to battle on,
which is why we sometimes weep,
but other times we sing
our song of true love.

You are fine writer Victor and the way you speak of love's passion and then the sadistic' 'fun' of war is so poignant. A cycle that mankind has created and it has passed through the ages. Well said.

I do like this, Victor, particularly the love, passion, sadistic fun- seems to sum it up for me. I've stopped trying to make sense of it, a wild miasmic bubbling and we keep trying to shape it. So far we are survivors! Best wishes! Elizabeth

Excellent life lessons, indeed, Victor. Since the dawn of time, this has always been the case. The final verses are really strong, but the whole thing is excellent.

"The tide comes in and then it ebbs, cycle follows cycle until the end." Love and war are two recurring phenomena happening in life. They have been there from time immemorial and will continue till the end. Beautiful poem- crisp and meaningful, dear Victor.
