Ode To My Fridge

Oh, fridge of mine. How long have you endured?
I don’t recall the place where you were found,
but gosh, it’s been since 1990, so
for thirty-three years then you’ve been around!

I cannot even tell which brand you are.
A Frigidaire? No matter what your name is, you’re still a star!
Not one time have you even needed a repair.
Dear fridge, I need to let you know how much I care!

Despite my rarely cleaning inside you all that much,
you’ve been so good to me. You’ve got a magic touch.
I thank you, fridge, for keeping the foods of mine cold throughout the years.
Some juice I take from you and pour it. A glass I raise to you, Fridge. Cheers!

So beautifully composed Ode. A thirty three old fridge in good form, so far needing no repair. Unbelievable...!

It's hard to imagine that 100 years ago most families didn't have refrigerators, now we can't get along without them! I'm sure yours would appreciate all your appreciation in your clever ode :)

Good Morning Andrea. Yes there should be an ode to all appliances of yesterday. The companies just don't make them last anymore. Everything now is throw away. You wrote with fun and flair. Best of luck with the contest. Have a wonderful morning and day. a Keep enjoying poetrysoup. (smile)

Lovely poem, Andrea. My fridge is almost empty and I must empty my freezer as it needs defrosting.
