Ode To Jack
Ode to Jack
You’re a sweetie, furry face
lounging all about the place,
white and gray, Purina man
friendly fellow on demand.
You’re a seven-year old chum,
and for me the only one,
who can sit upon my lap
lie down with me and take a nap.
You love the quest of open doors,
new sleeping places to explore.
Reaching to me with your paw,
you are careful not to claw.
You see the other worlds I can’t.
Spirits in the room enchant.
Healing presence that you are.
You’re my blessing, Jack, by far.
