~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ chilled into a serenity as rigid as your pose you linger trustingly, but a gutter waits for you. Your elegance does not secure you favors with the sun. He is not one to pity fragileness; he thinks all cheeks should burn and feel how tears can run.
To personify an icicle as you did Sara was so poetic and beautiful. A work of art and like paige, I also make it a favorite. Well done lovely Sara
The vulnerability and fragility of beauty, and how it is not always enough to protect oneself from the harshness of the world dear Sara, is well depicted in your poem. The language of the poem is quite formal and uses elevated diction to convey a sense of sophistication and elegance. Great job
This is a very clever analogy and one that could only be written by someone as wise as you.. love how you described it, especially the part about tears..
Wow what a deep metaphorical write this is. Merciless hey. Some people in life too are like this, they do not see the fragility and rather thinks that all should burn and feel pain and heat just like they do probably. Being elegant or kind does not secure a place that we deserve sometimes too. I dont know, you’ve got me thinking too deep maybe migraine after effects. However whatever you write is poetry at its finest i admire and appreciate! Sending you light always
There is beauty in icicles but can be costly with heat. A beautiful ode.
I know what you mean, Gershon...-1 degrees here (feels like)...I dislike this part of the winter season...hard on this aging bones :-) stay warm, Sara
Your poem is the contrast between elegance and vulnerability, and how the sun does not show pity towards fragility, dear Sara. There's also a sense of impending danger or betrayal despite an outward appearance of trust and elegance, your syntax is evocative and poignant. With words like "chilled," "rigid," "gutter," and "fragileness" you paint a beautiful imagery.
