October View

My October river view is ruined it holds plastic water bottles, bags cardboard boxes and straws even tooth brushes the rubbish rattles on the shore along with the dead fish and beautiful fallen leaves by the water's edge I sit down and weep my loss ________________________________ October 3, 2019 Poetry/Free Verse/October View Copyright Protected, ID 19-1185-940-02 All Rights Reserved. I work on the water for many years and I can honestly say sailors have the utmost respect for our waterways. You will never see a sailor throw anything in the water. If he does he is immediately disciplined by his fellow crew. Very nicely portrayed. Blessings Carl

when I read this it reminded me of a commercial I had seen many many years ago, it showed the scene in your poem and ended with an Indian starring out with a tear rolling down his face...a poem close to my soul...

Frederic, thanks for the great comment, yes it is sad what we see here in Canada and around the world and I fear it is too late to change the path of destruction.
