October Sun

The cold autumn mist casts' an eerie glow And patiently I wait for sunrise to show Then through the trees gold rays of light That golden orb now shining bright. The autumnal leaves are now glowing hues Bright shades of yellows, reds and blues Scattered misty shrouds are still around Form moisture on webs and on the ground. This time of the year the sun stays low When sunset comes it hasn't far to go The evening sky became a deep blood red October suns day over it's now going to bed. Written 30th October 2019 October Sun Contest was judged on 30th October 2019. Writing Challenge-December - Any poem NA'd in November 2019 Sponsored by Dear Heart - Wiishkobi Ode.

October Sun is a wonderful time of the year, whether it is approaching Winter for yourselves, or Summer for us, it is mild and gentle. The one sighs as it enters a hibernation stage and the other smiles with glee with the thought of warm summer evenings around the braai (barbecue). A beautiful poem Tom! I feel a poem forming in my mind! Blessings, Jennifer. P.S. In our new home - very cute and homely!

Thanks Sandra, nothing beats those blood red skies in autumn, I know further north in the UK they haven't been so lucky with grey sky and rain. Tom

Gorgeously penned, Tom. You really nailed the reality of the October sun (in Northern climes) in such a poetic write. Here's to a win in the contest! Smiles, Gershon

Both autumnal leaves and sun are appreciated by many, Tom. Pity the day has to come to an end so quickly! Enjoyed your descriptive poem. Regards // paul

Nicely written poem, Tom, best of luck in the contest. For me the October Sun is the bandit that stole summer. John
