Ocean Sonata
I want to see the ocean and feel her cool caress;
to dance inside her salty spray when she is at low tide;
to feel her waves as they roll in; to leap at their approach.
To jump those waves has got to be the ultimate fun ride.
I want to see the ocean while lying on a beach;
to view her sun-drenched splendor shimmering blue-green.
As eventide approaches I want to see her too
mirroring a twilight sky of crimson-tangerine.
I want to see her day and night, but moody she can be!
She rages with the tempests, but often she is calm.
When zephyr whispers to her, I love her soft replies.
I feel the freshness of her scent and know she is my balm.
I want to see, to touch, to feel, and breathe the ocean in;
to fall to sleep beside her when the misty-hued full moon
reflects upon her cobalt depths, and when the night is warm,
I want my dreams, like rippled waves, with her to be in tune!
