Oblivious To Pain
The twilight of my dreams,
ends at the dawn of my fears
When this day of reckoning,
comes with its intrusion of pain,
from you
I've learned to live,
with the cold eyes of your concerns,
hid behind the mask you wear
The end of our relationship will come slowly
and its pain brief
I hold no righteous side in this parting,
as I opened my trust to your hands,
without any knowledge of who you were.
You have expressed your views
and I know this day I will hurt,
yet, I will become one,
with the instrument chosen to inflict my discomfort,
while searching the room for any escape,
from the bright lighted chair of your chosen profession,
dentistry.
