Notes About The Poem

Oblivious To Others

Your high opinion is all that matters you think the rest of us are merely fools High handedness leaves others in tatters can’t you play fair and follow the set rules? Harsh words and one’s self confidence shatters we aren’t stupid so don’t treat us like mules! I’ve seen your mistakes, what is it you fear? No one is perfect, not even you dear! Congratulations on placing first, Jan!! Not a Limerick, but an Ottava Rima...more challenging, but you tackled it with impressive results! As to the content, I believe I know who you're referring to:) Hugs // paul

A hard lesson to learn, humility and consideration for other people in our own struggle to be top dog. Great read, Jan.

very well done in this form, Jan. You are doing so many new things and now you have done an Ottava rima!! (the picture you put with this one. So funny. You should do your artwork piece on that picture)

I make mistakes everyday but it is not a reason to put me down. It is easy to criticize from high atop one's horse.

Some definitely only see and hear themselves, unfortunately many of us have to see and hear them too. Nicely expressed Jan.

I wonder what it's like to be so oblivious that even with eyes wide open, some fail to see truths.

ha ha ha Lin Unfortunately the one it is intended for doesn't even access poetry soup so she won't see 'Footloose' either:-( hugs Jan xx
