Nothing's Left First Draft

The day of birth had come with all its glow another world, another time so old a passing shadow through years would follow "till" tomorrow's end will at last unfold and will take all the memories I own that no one could see nor would understand this is the hourglass I have lived and known where I count each breath and each grain of sand the pictures I've lived between birth and death quietly vanish when life's forlorn never lived again nor be gathereth it's not for me to shed a tear or mourn when I look back I was here to explore this life lived will never be any more

Congratulations on your win in my First Draft contest with this sonnet, Frederic. When poets have carte blanche with the brief, they come up with words like ‘gathereth’ (a nice inclusion for this contest). The strict sonnet meter (iambic pentameter) was delightfully way off, not to mention the rhyme scheme –fine examples for this contest where you were called upon to share your poem warts and all. ~Suzette
